Janese Jackson Talton, a 29-year-old African American woman from Pittsburgh, PA, tragically lost her life on January 22, 2016. She was shot outside a bar after rejecting the sexual advances of Charles McKinney, a 41-year-old acquaintance. According to witnesses, McKinney followed Talton outside the bar and made unwanted advances, which she rejected multiple times before he shot her in the chest. Talton's friend, who was present at the scene, tried to help her but she succumbed to her injuries.
