In the fall of 2015, the life of 14-year-old Duval DeShields, an African American male from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was tragically cut short. On the evening of October 12th, on the 1200 block of North 10th Street, DeShields was found with a gunshot wound to his head. Emergency responders rushed him to Hahnemann University Hospital, but his injuries were too severe, and he succumbed to them the following day.
