Justin Ballard, a 26-year-old White / Caucasian male from McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, was killed on Saturday, April 25, 2015, after a late-morning shooting in Third Street Park. Reports placed the shooting near Progress and Amelia streets, with the call coming in around 11:30 a.m. Ballard was struck in the back, and what began as a public shooting in a neighborhood park quickly became a homicide investigation when he died several hours later at Allegheny General Hospital.
