In the small mining town of Luxor, Pennsylvania, a dedicated law enforcement officer met a tragic and violent end. Constable Harry Foster 'Darby' Bierer, a 42-year-old male, was shot and killed on Thursday, July 9, 1903, while in the line of duty.
