Fernando Akins, an 18-year-old male from Nashville, Tennessee, tragically passed away on January 20, 2022. He was shot in the chest inside an apartment on West H. Davis Drive in North Nashville. The incident occurred when Fernando's half-brother, 17-year-old Elton Maupins, was handling a pistol that accidentally discharged, striking Fernando. Despite efforts to get him to a hospital, Fernando succumbed to his injuries at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
