In the spring of 2017, the life of 18-year-old Leland Butler was tragically cut short in a burst of violence on the streets of St. Louis, Missouri. On the evening of Monday, May 8, 2017, Butler was driving in the southern part of the city when he was struck by gunfire. The fatal shot to his head caused him to lose control of his vehicle, which then crashed.
