Caucasian male John E. Janis, aged 37, was discovered fatally wounded in the Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri, on the night of October 14, 2014. Officers from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the 2700 block of North Grand Boulevard after receiving reports of gunfire in the area.
