On September 2, 2017, in Haltom City, Texas, 9-year-old Jonathan Reid, a young boy, tragically lost his life in an accidental shooting. According to reports, Jonathan was playing with a semi-automatic handgun he had discovered in a nightstand drawer in the master bedroom of his home. While handling the firearm, it discharged, resulting in a fatal gunshot wound. Emergency responders arrived promptly, but Jonathan was pronounced dead at the scene.
