On June 22, 2015, Charles McElreath Jr., a 47-year-old male, was found dead in his home in Leander, Texas. The Travis County Sheriff's Office responded to a welfare check at the residence located on Layne Loop. Upon arrival, deputies discovered that all the doors to the home were locked from the inside. Upon entry, they found Charles McElreath Jr. and Jeanne Crews, a 46-year-old female, both deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.
