Pilar Horton-Garcia, a 33-year-old woman of mixed ethnicity, tragically lost her life on April 30, 2015, in Schertz, TX. Horton-Garcia, who was a former combat medic and instructor for the U.S. Army, was found shot to death near railroad tracks in a remote area of northeast San Antonio. The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled her death a homicide.

The investigation into Horton-Garcia's death led to the arrest of Zachary Duncan, a 29-year-old man, who was charged with her murder ...
