On December 3, 2009, Juan Rodriguez, a 39-year-old Hispanic man, was tragically shot and killed in his northwest Harris County neighborhood in Houston, Texas. According to his ex-wife, Olga Contreras, Rodriguez was awakened by a gunshot around 2 a.m. and went outside with his handgun after hearing the commotion.
