Kiflemariam Tareh, a 27-year-old Ethiopian man, tragically lost his life on December 19, 1985, in Houston, Texas. He was employed at Mike's Grocery on Market Street when he was shot by Willie T. Washington during a robbery. Washington, who was out on parole at the time, entered the store and demanded money. After receiving $100, he shot Kiflemariam Tareh and another employee, Yemane Kidane, who survived the attack.
