Cheryl Denise "Niecey" Lucas, a 32-year-old African American woman, was tragically murdered in mid-June 1995 in St. Augustine, Florida. Her body was discovered on Palmer Street, having suffered fatal blunt force trauma inflicted with a metal nail bar. At the time of her death, Cheryl Denise Lucas was one of several women in the area who had fallen victim to a series of violent killings targeting sex workers.
