In the early morning hours of March 3, 2025, the life of 34-year-old Geneisha Shanee Brooks, a Black female from Birmingham, Alabama, was tragically cut short. Authorities responded to a call at an apartment complex in the Forestdale area at approximately 4:16 a.m., where they discovered Brooks suffering from a gunshot wound. She was quickly transported to UAB Hospital for medical attention, but succumbed to her injuries within the hour.
