In the early morning hours of March 30, 2025, a sense of unease settled over a normally quiet neighborhood in Conyers, Georgia. The body of 36-year-old Douglas Machado Coka, a male, was discovered lying in the front yard of a residence on Hurst Road near McDaniel Mill Road. The cause of his untimely death was determined to be a gunshot wound. The Rockdale County Sheriff's Office was alerted to the scene following a call about a person being shot.
