Funes-Salas' brother, Valentin Funes, expressed his grief, stating that his sibling was a hardworking individual who regularly sent money back to his family in Guatemala. He is now seeking assistance to return his brother’s body to their home country. Law enforcement officials are urging anyone with information to come forward and contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers. A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for tips leading to an arrest. The community has responded by placing flowers at the site where Funes-Salas was killed, mourning the loss of a young man who was deeply involved in his church and music.
