Julian Austin Green, a 22-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on February 6, 2025, in Gadsden County, Florida. His death occurred during a violent armed robbery at a Mobil gas station on Pat Thomas Parkway in Quincy, Florida. Julian, a delivery truck driver for Tri-Eagle Sales, had just finished unloading a shipment of beer into the store’s cooler when an armed assailant opened fire inside the convenience store.
The attack resulted in the deaths of Julian and a store clerk, Laura Darley, while two other individuals sustained injuries.
The suspect, identified as 44-year-old Dominic Caroway from Avondale, Arizona, fled the scene immediately after the shooting, prompting a massive multi-agency manhunt. Law enforcement officers advised nearby residents to take shelter and lock their doors as they pursued Caroway. During the chase, Caroway shot and injured a Suwannee County deputy before being confronted by SWAT team members in Live Oak, Florida. A firefight ensued, ultimately leading to Caroway’s death.
The Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office later confirmed Caroway’s identity and described him as a dangerous individual responsible for the senseless killing of innocent people. Sheriff Morris Young stated that Caroway "got what he deserved" after taking lives and injuring others.
