In the late hours of May 1, 2025, the sound of gunfire pierced the night in the Landover area, prompting an immediate response from Prince George's County police officers. Upon searching the vicinity, they discovered 30-year-old James Kibler, a Black/African American male, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the 8100 block of Allendale Drive, near Northwest Stadium. Emergency services transported Kibler to a local hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
