On the evening of January 2, 2025, a violent incident occurred in the parking lot of a shopping plaza in south Kansas City, Missouri, claiming the lives of two men. Officers from the Kansas City Police Department were dispatched to the 8700 block of Blue Ridge Boulevard shortly after 7:30 p.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival at the scene, which houses a Little Caesars pizza franchise and other businesses, they discovered two adult males suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
