On January 18, 2025, 49-year-old African American woman Lenisa Washington was fatally shot in her home at 3429 St. Benedict Street in Houston, Texas. Responding to a shooting call around 2:55 p.m., Houston Police Department officers found Ms. Washington with multiple gunshot wounds inside the residence. Emergency medical personnel pronounced her deceased at the scene.
