On January 25, 1973, a tragic event unfolded in the Santa Cruz Mountains near the popular tourist attraction known as the Mystery Spot. Kathleen Louise “Kathy” Prentiss Francis, a 29-year-old white female, and her two sons, David Hughes, aged 9, and Daemon Francis, aged 4, were brutally murdered in their remote cabin.
