On a summer day in 1972, the life of 17-year-old Betty Jo Richards, a white female, was tragically cut short in Quinton, Alabama. On July 16th, her body was discovered in an alley, having been stabbed more than ten times. Witnesses reported a harrowing scene of a screaming Richards being chased into the alley by a white man shortly before her body was found.
