In the summer of 2025, a deadly shooting in east Columbus claimed the life of 51-year-old Donnie Keith Hand. On Saturday, July 5, 2025, at approximately 12:00 P.M., police responded to a call in the 2800 block of Reese Road. Upon arrival, they discovered Hand suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene by coroner officials at 12:21 P.M.
