Dexter Williams, 38, was shot multiple times and killed just after midnight on August 3, 2025, in Chicago's Humboldt Park neighborhood. Police said the violence erupted around 12:44–12:45 a.m. during an argument in the 1000 block of North Springfield Avenue. Williams was rushed to Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Two other people were shot in the same burst of gunfire: a 28-year-old man struck in the chest and arm and a 44-year-old woman wounded in the wrist.
