In the early morning hours of August 24, 2025, tragedy struck in the Greater Ville neighborhood of St. Louis. Wilbert Rodgers III, a 38-year-old man from Wellston, was found on the sidewalk in the 2700 block of Marcus Avenue, suffering from a gunshot wound. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a call about the shooting at approximately 2:30 a.m. and discovered Rodgers at the scene.
Emergency medical services were dispatched and transported Rodgers to a nearby hospital
