In the early morning hours of Friday, May 16, 2025, the life of 33-year-old Willie Deshon Willis, a black male from Grenada, Mississippi, was tragically cut short. Gunshots echoed in the 300 block of Mound Street, and when police arrived at approximately 4:41 a.m., they discovered Willis suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene, initiating a homicide investigation by the Grenada Police Department.
