Deron Boston, 26, a Black/African American male, was shot to death on the night of August 20, 2025, inside a residence on the 900 block of Dayton Street in Akron’s North Hill neighborhood. Officers arrived around 10:35 p.m. to find him suffering from multiple gunshot wounds; the Summit County Medical Examiner later determined the fatal injuries were to his neck and torso and ruled the case a homicide.
