In the early evening of October 2, 2025, the life of 23-year-old Gerald L. Bogan III, a Black male from East Liberty, was tragically cut short in Pittsburgh's Hill District. Just before 7 p.m., the sound of gunfire pierced the air, triggering a three-round ShotSpotter alert that drew Pittsburgh police to the 600 block of Perry Street.
