In the early morning hours of Saturday, August 23, 2025, the life of 33-year-old Gilberto DeJesus III was tragically cut short in a shooting that is being investigated by Richmond Police as a homicide. Officers responded to a call of a person shot at approximately 6:48 a.m. in the 3400 block of Chamberlayne Avenue.
