On the evening of November 17, 2025, the life of 25-year-old Zekhiry Hooks, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Montgomery, Alabama. Around 6:20 p.m., the sound of gunfire broke the quiet on the 100 block of Courtland Drive on the city's west side. When police and fire medics arrived at the scene, they discovered Hooks suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
