In the Payne-Phalen neighborhood of Saint Paul, Minnesota, a residence on the 900 block of York Avenue became the scene of the city's first homicide of 2026. On the afternoon of Saturday, January 31, 2026, police responded to a call about a shooting at approximately 2:25 p.m. Inside the home, they discovered Christ Hae, a 25-year-old Asian man, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the arrival of emergency responders, Hae was pronounced dead at the scene.
