In the early morning hours of Sunday, January 25, 2026, the city of South Bend, Indiana, was rattled by a fatal shooting. Jiffery T. Jones, a 48-year-old man, was discovered with a gunshot wound and, despite efforts to save him, was pronounced dead at the scene.
