In the early hours of February 10, 2026, a white male named Vasyl Shvets, a 27-year-old Ukrainian refugee, was killed in Cleveland, Ohio. Shvets, who worked as a Lyft driver, was found shot in his vehicle in the 2400 block of East 84th Street at approximately 12:45 a.m. after his car crashed. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Shvets had come to the United States from Ukraine seeking a better life.
