In the early morning hours of Saturday, February 28, 2026, a life was tragically cut short in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Demarcus Variste, a 27-year-old man, was shot and killed outside an after-hours club known as the "Lil Blue House" located in the 2600 block of Osage Street, near Plank Road. Emergency crews responded to the scene around 6 a.m. to find Variste suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
