A Sunday evening party at an apartment complex on Hucks Road in north Charlotte turned into a scene of violence on March 22, 2026, leaving one young man dead and four others wounded. Richard Jeddiah Thomas, a 20-year-old, was fatally shot during the gathering, which was attended by a large crowd of young adults and teenagers. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call shortly after 7:30 p.m. and discovered a chaotic scene with multiple gunshot victims.
