In the early hours of a Saturday morning, the life of 48-year-old Dwayne Maurice Darden, a Black/African American male, was cut short following a violent altercation in Denton, Texas. Just after 12:40 a.m. on March 14, 2026, police responded to a shooting call in the 400 block of E. Prairie Street.
