In an apparent robbery that turned fatal, 28-year-old Kevonte Javon Smith of Pontiac, Michigan, was shot and killed on the afternoon of Saturday, April 11, 2026. The incident occurred at approximately 2:15 p.m. in the 100 block of Crystal Lake Drive, where deputies from the Oakland County Sheriff's Office found Smith lying in a driveway with a gunshot wound to his back. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses reported that the suspect fled the area on foot after the shooting.
