On the evening of March 31, 2026, 18-year-old Jachristian Henderson of Stonewall, Louisiana, was found deceased in a vehicle that had come to a stop in the median of Interstate 49 in DeSoto Parish. He had sustained a fatal gunshot wound. The incident prompted the temporary closure of the northbound lanes of the interstate as law enforcement began their investigation.
