On a Wednesday afternoon in Chicago's Little Village neighborhood, Antonio Padilla's life was cut short in a sudden burst of violence. The 46-year-old man was standing on a sidewalk near 26th Street and St. Louis on April 22, 2026, when a male suspect approached and opened fire. Padilla was shot multiple times and was later pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital. Three women who were with him were also wounded in the attack, one of them critically.
