LaDainian Cathey, an 18-year-old male, was killed in Memphis, Tennessee, in the early morning hours of April 19, 2026, only hours after what should have been one of the happiest nights of his senior year. He had attended prom and was still carrying the joy of that milestone when the night turned deadly. Reports said he was shot outside a gas station or convenience store in the Whitehaven area, with some accounts identifying the location as a Hop-In convenience store.
