Desmond L. Mitchell, a 37-year-old man from Louisville, Kentucky, was killed on the night of April 8, 2026, after gunfire broke out in the Taylor Berry area of south Louisville. The shooting happened in the 900 block of Algonquin Parkway, near the Algonquin neighborhood and just east of Taylor Berry Park. Police were called to the area shortly before 11:00 p.m., with Louisville Metro Police Department officers responding at about 10:50 p.m. after reports of a shooting.
