Assam Alshaif, a 21-year-old male from the Bronx, was killed on the morning of March 26, 2026, after a shooting near Jerome Avenue and Bainbridge Avenue in the Norwood section of the Bronx, close to Woodlawn Station and across from Woodlawn Cemetery. Police said officers responded at about 9:48 a.m. to a 911 call reporting a person shot within the 52nd Precinct.
