Davin Lashan Copeland Jr., a 23-year-old male from Ypsilanti, Michigan, died in the early hours of June 9, 2026, after gunfire broke out near a business complex along Golfside Road in Ypsilanti Township. The shooting was reported around midnight, when multiple 911 callers told authorities they had heard shots and believed someone had been struck. Deputies with the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office responded with nearby law enforcement agencies and EMS, finding Copeland injured on the ground.
