In the early morning hours of July 2, 2026, the Springfield, Missouri community was shaken by a tragedy that unfolded in a parking garage at Mercy Hospital. Jacqueline Ecton, a 59-year-old dedicated caregiver at the hospital, was arriving for her shift when her life was cut short in a shocking act of violence.
