Thomas Hawtree, a 17-year-old white male, was killed on September 4, 1972, inside his family's rural home near Monee, Illinois. He died alongside his parents, Stephen Hawtree, 56, and Judy Hawtree, 53, in a calculated triple homicide that authorities soon connected to a wider series of killings across Illinois.
