A tragic sequence of events unfolded in Milwaukee on the night of August 8, 2026, culminating in the death of 39-year-old Shamarla Hare. A Navy veteran, Hare was shot and killed at her home near 39th and Townsend at approximately 10:05 p.m. Her death was the final act in a wave of violence that began less than half an hour earlier and spanned across the city, leaving two other individuals dead. The violent spree has been linked by investigators to a single suspect.
