In the late summer evening of August 6, 2026, a burst of gunfire shattered the peace in Louisville's historic Smoketown neighborhood. When the echo of the shots faded, two lives had been tragically cut short. Arvontai Equadrius Owens, a 28-year-old man, was one of the victims in the double homicide that unfolded on East Jacob Street. The incident, which also claimed the life of 31-year-old Dadrianna Elliot, left the community in shock and mourning.
