In the early morning hours of Tuesday, August 4, 2026, the quiet of a Washington, D.C. neighborhood was shattered by the sound of gunfire. At approximately 4:25 a.m., officers from the Metropolitan Police Department's Third District were dispatched to the 2600 block of 15th Street, Northwest, near Meridian Hill Park, following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered a young man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, unconscious and not breathing.
