In the early morning hours of Sunday, July 26, 2026, the life of 34-year-old Ceontae D. Matthews was tragically cut short. Matthews, a male, was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds around 3:10 a.m. in the 4000 block of Pontoon Road in Pontoon Beach, Illinois, just outside of a daycare center. He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
