On a warm summer evening in Garland, Texas, the life of 17-year-old E'Lija Tanoy Richardson was tragically cut short by an act of gun violence. On July 17, 2026, just after 9 p.m., police responded to a call of a gunshot disturbance at an apartment complex located in the 300 block of River Fern Drive.
